Microsoft Visual Studio Installer Projects – Visual Studio Marketplace

I got a new computer and reinstalled Visual Studio I discovered that it no longer included support for Setup projects. But Visual Studio is still unable to load my existing Setup project. I tried installing it from within Visual Studio, and when I look under Extensions and Updates, the extension is listed as being installed.

But it still won’t load my Setup project. I get the message that it is “incompatible. What am I doing wrong? Did I not install the extension correctly? Do I not have the needed privileges? Is there a known issue?

To use this extension, you can either open the Extensions and Updates dialog, select the online node, and search for “Visual Studio Installer Projects Extension,” or you can download directly from this page. Once you have finished installing the extension and restarted Visual Studio, you will be able to open existing Visual Studio Installer projects, or create new ones.
